Dark Chocolate and Caramel Banoffee Balls With Sea Salt

Updated: Jul 16, 2019

Ingredients: Duration of Cooking: 10 minutes

For the Base:

  • 400 g of Digestive Biscuits

  • 150 g of Caramel Sauce (I used the Carnation brand)

  • 2 Bananas

For the Coating:

  • Dark Chocolate for Coating (I used 250 g)

  • 30 g of Butter

  • 3 tbs of Milk

For Decoration:

  • Caramel for Drizzle

  • Biscuit Crumbles

  • Sea Salt

Direction:

Step 1: Take 400 g of digestive biscuits place it into a food processor (or in a plastic bag and crush it) until it's powdery.

Step 2: Mash 2 bananas using a fork.

Step 3: Place the biscuits into a large bowl add 2 mashed bananas and the caramel sauce. You should get a mixture that is not too wet so it can be shaped. (If it's too wet add more biscuit)

Step 4: Take a baking sheet place grease proof paper over it.

Step 5: Wet your hands and make equal sized balls. Place them on the baking sheet, then put them into the freezer for 15 minutes until firm.

Step 6: Take a saucepan add boiling water to it then place a glass bowl over it. (Make sure the water is not touching the bowl)

Step 7: Add 30 g of butter and 3 tbs of milk to 250 g of dark chocolate and melt them together in the glass bowl.

Step 8: When the balls are firm take them out of the freezer and roll them into chocolate. Try using two forks by sticking one into the ball roll it in chocolate and use the other one to pull it off gently.

Step 9: Add some crushed biscuits on the top while it can stick to the chocolate. Then place the balls back to the freezer until the chocolate is firm.

Step 10: Melt some caramel sauce in the microwave, place it in a small plastic bag, remove the corner and you can start decorating.

Step 11: Add some sea salt on top for the final finish.

Enjoy!
